The Subnovii is a hand-held device that uses advanced plasma technology to deliver a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that reduces fine lines and wrinkles, diminishes scars and blemishes, lightens and tightens skin. This technology is called fibroblast therapy, which is an FDA cleared treatment for plasma skin resurfacing. It delivers low-frequency energy and a patented wavelength and power combination to rejuvenate the skin. This technology allows for very precise application of treatment and reduced healing time and is excellent for otherwise hard-to-treat areas such as between and around the eyes, and lines around the mouth. Subnovii delivers a plasma stream of ionized oxygen and nitrogen gases causing a micro-wound to the skin which stimulates tissue remodeling and the creation of collagen. The non-invasive device uses a controlled output which allows delivery of the desired treatment level for the patient’s goals.
Patients are fully awake during the procedure and a local anesthetic is used in the treatment area to ensure comfort. Treatment time varies per individual, but a good estimate is to allow 45 minutes of numbing time and 45 minutes of treatment time. Downtime after the treatment is 1-2 weeks depending on the patient and the treatment. While you can go back to work the day after your treatment, the areas of treatment will likely have redness, swelling and/or scabbing. Ice-packs and over-the-counter pain medicine can be used to reduce post-treatment discomfort. All patients who receive a Subnovii Experience Kit which includes specially formulated aftercare products with ingredients to promote healing and protect the treatment area from unwanted side effects.
The results of Subnovii treatment are both immediate and progressive. Many patients notice tightness of their skin within a week of the treatment. However, improved smoothness and firmness are seen as new collagen develops, usually about 3 months after treatment. Fresh, rejuvenated new skin will develop in the treatment area and can last for years. A second treatment is sometimes recommended depending on the needs of the individual.
