Sculptra is a bio-activator treatment that stimulates the body to build new collagen and restore lost volume in the face. It contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible synthetic substance that stimulates collagen production. It can be used to treat deep lines, creases, and folds to give a more youthful appearance. Being a naturally occurring substance in the human body, Sculptra is completely absorbed by the body and has never resulted in an allergic reaction. There is little to no downtime with Sculptra. Patients may bruise as they would with filler, but besides not exercising for the rest of the day, they can go right back to work.
